

She was born on October 11, 1949 in Esperanza, Sonora, Mexico where she attended school and grew into young adulthood. While on vacation in Tijuana, Mexico, she met and married Jose Luis Luna Flores. Through the course of their 41 years together, they celebrated marriage three times! In addition, they were blessed with two children; son Jose Luis Luna and daughter Veronica Luna.
Rosalva had a career as an Activist for the Carpenter's Union. Her passion however was taking care of her family, cooking and raising chickens. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. A favorite pastime was visiting the local casinos and catering to her pet Chihuahua, Petunia.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
Rosalva was predeceased by her husband, Jose Luis Luna Flores in 2012. She is survived by her two children, Jose Luis and Veronica Luna. In addition, her legacy includes her grandchildren; Katarina Velarde (Luna), Analilia Luna, Alexandra Marie Luna and Jesus Alejandro Velarde-Lopez Jr. and great-grandson Jaden Alexander Velarde. Also surviving her are siblings Miguel Leon , Alberto Leon, Maria Luisa Cortez Silva, Juan Silva Saiz, and Jorge Silva Saiz.
A visitation and celebration of life service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Humphrey, 753 Broadway, Chula Vista, California 91910 on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A prayer service led by Deacon Margarito Lozoya will start at 5:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 30, 2017, a graveside service will be held at 12 noon at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, California 91902 where
she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jose Luis.
