Ruth Marie Thomas, long-time Vista resident, passed away on March 10, 2024. She was 101 years old. She is survived by her son Steven, grandchildren Jane Thomas-Tran, William Thomas, Spencer Thomas, Jesse Thomas, Heather Farrell, and Cassandra Boorom. Sullivan Farrell is her only great-grandchild.
Marie was an avid seamstress, potter, photographer, gardener, and 5-gallon blood donor. Her Marie pottery pieces including full-body sculptures were avidly sought items at the Palomar College annual art sale. Since moving to Vista in 1955 she became a friend to many and when help was needed, she stepped in.
