

Bill, as he was known, was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 11, 1936. He met and married his wife, Francine (LYN) of 51 years in Mountain View, California.
Prior to joining the Navy, Bill attended East New York Vocational High School majoring in boat construction. He entered the Navy at the end of the Korean War doing his basic training at Bainbridge, Maryland. From there he served in various ports in Texas, California, Hawaii, Guam, Japan, Philippines and finally settling in San Diego for his final assignment. After retiring from the Navy, Bill went to work at the Chula Vista City School District as a substitute custodian. Within a short time he received a permanent position and soon became a maintenance supervisor (Locksmith). He retired from the school district in 1995.
Bill had a passion for salt water fish and built a 55 gallon tank. He also had a passion for boats, which he owned several for deep sea fishing. Bill was also a golfer and a gold prospector. However, when September came around, you would find him and his boat down at Ski Brach for a week for the Thunderboat race.
Bill is survived by his wife Lyn of Chula Vista, daughter Deborah Charlton of Chula Vista, and son William IV of Cedar Park, TX. Three grandchildren, Antionette Langton, Anthony Charlton, and Katrina Pardee. Two great Grandsons Preston Langton and Austin Caitan. Two step granddaughters Maria in Texas, Carrie in Arizona, and 5 step grandchildren, His sister Barbara Pardee of Chula Vista and Brother James Pardee of Massachusetts.
