Garry Lee Meeker

Garry was born on July 6th, 1939 in Berwyn, Nebraska to Billy Roy Meeker and Thelma Irene Meeker later divorced. Garry grew up in Willow Glen, California with his Mother, Thelma and Father, Pete Francini and 4 siblings, Brothers: Danny Meeker, deceased; Frank Francini and Pete Francini; as well as Sister, Eloise Francini.

Garry graduated from Willow Glen High School in 1957; after graduation, Garry was drafted by the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War, Honorable Discharged in 1963. Garry met Lois M. Leahew and were united in marriage in May of 1962, later divorced with 3 children: Cathy Ann Meeker, deceased in 2017; William L. Meeker, and Pamela M. Meeker.

Garry married Jo Anne Smith in 1982 and were married for 36 years until the passing of his wife. Garry was a Cancer survivor of 5 Cancers for 18 years and fought a valent battle to survive. Within his family he had 3 Children, 7 Grand Children, and 7 Great Grand Children.

Garry was a career Deputy Sheriff at Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and he achieved many accommodations as well as rose to the rank of Sergeant. During his career he worked many positions including Patrol Supervisor and worked in the Homicide and Burglary Division for a large percentage of his time on the job.

Garry is survived by his Son, William L Meeker (Scottsdale, AZ); Daughter, Pamela M Buck (Victor) (Cherryvale KS); Frank and Kathy Francini (Monterey CA); Eloise Francini (San Jose CA); Pete Francini and Dianne Kanemoto (San Jose CA); Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Garry is preceded in death by, Father, Billy Roy Meeker; Mother, Thelma Francini; and Father, Pete Francini; Daughter, Cathy Anne St. Clair (Meeker); Brother, Danny Meeker; Wife, Jo Meeker.

For those who knew Garry, he touched their lives in many different ways. He was a Friend, a Father, a Grand Father and a Great Grandfather, Uncle and Neighbor and loved his Family with all of his heart.

Services will be announced at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose, CA.
