Mom, it has been six years since you left us for heaven. You are missed everyday.

4 years mom since you joined dad in heaven. Miss you so much. Your gentle ways & beautiful smile. Love you.

I wanted to share some of moms' favorite things. Her favorite childhood memory was going sledding with her father during the winter down cow hill. She loved to read & her favorite book was the Bible. The following list is other favorites

Color - Blue though when she was younger she like yellow.
Pet - Squeeks a cat

Drink - Water & coffee
Desert - Pie
Catching Fire Flies on hot summer nights in a jar.
Walking one day up the mountain to bird rock with her father they came across a bird tangle up and they climbed down off the path to free the bird.
One of her other good memories was going to a farm that belonged to her Aunt during harvest time with her mother & father to help. She would sleep on the porch at night with her sister & cousin. The girls would play & loved to watch the trains from above on a hill that overlooked the tracks. They would help with the harvest & canning. The sink had a hand pump to bring water up from the well. They would milk the cows & store the cans of milk in a cave in the cold water that had a spring coming up in it & flowed out as a creek onto the property. She really enjoyed those late summer days going there.
Mom lived through many changes in her lifetime.  


I met Jean close to fifty years ago. There are so many good memories that go way back, it makes it difficult to narrow it down to just one. She was a sweet, kind, calm sole with a sense of humor. I have spent a lot of time with Jean the last three years, at times she would think she was young, back in business school staying at the YWCA with homework to do. It was sad seeing her struggle with timelines of her life. But talking to her was also a look into of the kind of a Lady Jean was in her earlier years of life.
 One day she was going to walk down to YWCA where she needed to do her homework before lights out. I reminded her she had a room here and should stay here. She looked at me with a sweet smile thanked me kindly for the offer, then informed me that her mother would not approve. We had to step back & chuckle at her response.
She put others before herself. She had a high regard for family, a strong faith & belief in God. She will be missed greatly and held in our hearts & memories. With the birth of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, & her first of great great grandchild a piece of her lives on. 


I'll always remember the way your face lit up when you read the poem I wrote you for Christmas and I loved the deep discussions we would have about the universe, religion and history. I may not have as many memories with you as most of the family but the ones I have are very special and cherished . I regret that you didn't get to meet your great great grand daughter in person but am glad you at least got to see pictures and I loved seeing you smile when you  face timed with her before you passed. Love you Grandma Keller. You are missed very much by us all.

I have struggled with what to write here for the past couple of days. My mind is filled with so many memories that I cannot pick just one. We had the memorial service today and I now find myself with the regret of not getting up to speak of mom when given the opportunity.  I allowed a bad head cold keep me seated afraid of the embarrassment it might cause.  What I did do was listen to what I know our family feels for her and also to what her friends said of her.  Our mothers legacy is that she was known as a kind, gentle soul. A women who was respected and admired by her children and others not because she demanded it,  but just by being the very special person she was. The pastor spoke of how mom was born with a hole in her heart and how she lived nearly 101 years with it because of the love that came through it.  How very true that is. Mom's physical heart was challenged but the essence of her heart was good and this kept it beating.  I cherish the relationship I had with my mother.  As I grew into an adult, I would head on over to the house  to pick her up and off we would go to lunch, the movies or shopping.  I did not have a single friend who did this with their mothers which made me appreciate what we had even more. As a child, I had a mother who was a teacher and counselor who provided guidance. She was a loving nurturer.    As a young adult I followed the path that she paved but fell off of it as time brought stresses and struggles into my life.  I wasn't able to manage them the way she did and I became a person that I myself did not like.  I know that part of my work is to return to her  teachings. As our oldest brother David said to me, the best way to honor mom  is to emulate her.  Mom, you were a gift to this family.  I love you so very much and will miss your physical presence but know that you are still with us spiritually, always looking out for us.  Your Loving Daughter Bobbie.

Bobby and I have been married 50 years and I can't remember when I first met Your mom.  Bobby often spoke of your family. 
once when your parents were visiting Pa. we had your parents and the entire Keller family for a picnic . I think Bobby may have been along for the trip. Your Mom insisted in her quiet gentle way that she needed to bring food,we said no we were providing the food. But she wouldn't take no for an answer and brought chips and other snacks. Another time we had the family and your parents at  my parents cabin for a picnic. I always enjoyed talking with your Mom she kept me updated on you her children. Even though Dave ,Billy and Bobby were the only two I had met  I felt like I knew  you all.  
RIP aunt Jean I'll always remember your kind quiet way.
Bobby said when he thinks of your Mother he remembers she never yelled or got mad  when him and some of you were doing things you shouldn't have been doing.  

I will always remember my grandmother as the best example of a Christian woman I know.  

There are so many great memories of you mom. I miss that smile you would have at the start of your day. You have been my world these last few years taking care of you. I am not sure how to say goodbye, though I was there when you drew your last breath. Knowing that you are free of your pain is the only comfort I have. You are now free to seek God unencumbered. My tears are for the loss of someone I love & was fortunate to have in my life for so long. You were a blessing to have as a mother. I will always remember these things about you, your faith, strength, kindness & your knowledge. Loved all the conversations about life, books & God. When I started the journal about your life growing up in PA I learned so much more about you during those times. You saw so much change in your lifetime. You are an amazing lady - Heaven received a gentle loving spirit. 

Whenever I think about you Mom I remember a life lived loving your family and loving your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I remember a mom who was always there for us whether it be to bandage up our wounds (three boys meant lots of wounds to bandage), teaching us respect and manners towards others, in-depth talks about life and books you've read, and of course always having a smile for each of us.  You were the glue that held the family together and you were instantly accepting of my new wife, Sharon.  You loved those around you and I can't recall you ever mentioning anybody in a bad light.  You were one of a kind Mom and could never be replaced.  Although I will miss your presence here on earth I know you are walking the golden streets of Heaven upright and without pain.  You are surrounded by those loved ones who departed prior to you.  The tears I shed are tears of happiness for you Mom as you've truly gone home now.  I will miss you until the day we are reunited in Heaven and know that these words don't truly express how I truly feel but it's the best I could do.  Love you Mom.

Grandma, I have so many wonderful memories with you . Growing up when ever I visited you always had my favorite foods and sweets. You let me cook with you and would read to me at night if I stayed the night. We would go through your coffee table books of art and talk about our favorite ones. Our trips to PA with Granpa and you telling me about your life growing up and places you traveled to.
The day you came to see your great grandson Christopher at the hospital when he was born. You said that you would not get to see him grow up. Well, you did and also got to meet the woman he married and not only see pictures of his daughter, your Great Great granddaughter, but, got to video chat with her.
 I love you grandma and know you re at home and in peace. I will carry my memories of you in my heart forever. 
 

Mom, I’ll always remember the talks we had later in life, and how you liked to tell me about the books you were reading, the stories of family, and the memories of Reedsville.  And I will always remember your smile and how it was always there even when you were suffering. I don’t think I’ve met a person like you who never seemed to complain about anything. You just accepted life and the people in it without judgement.  Love you, Mom.

I always remember how you worked in Santa Maria and still took care of the family. Thursday was your day for your hair and it was spaghetti night later, because it was so easy and quick. I love you for all you did for us and all the loving care.
