It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joseph E. Schlechter announces his passing on April 16, 2021 at the age of 55. Joseph was born in Roseville, California on July 17th, 1965. He attended Roseville High School and then entered the U.S. Army. After a tour in the Army, Joey returned to the Sacramento Metro area to pursue a career in law enforcement and dedicated his life to public service and helping others.
Joseph, lovingly referred to as “Joey” by his mother and sisters, left us all to soon. But he will forever be remembered as a beautiful and nostalgic soul. While he appeared tough on the outside he was and a tender, loving, and humble man with quiet strength. Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R. Schlechter. He is survived by his Mother Betty Willis Schlechter of Newman Lake, Washington; his sister Cherie R. McMahon of Herndon, Virginia (spouse: Joseph Balsamo); Michele R. Lasso of Newman Lake, Washington (spouse: Bryan Lasso); Kristina R. Rivenbark of Wilmington, North Carolina (spouse: Russell Rivenbark); step-sister Jennifer N. Moller of Sacramento, California. Also surviving him are numerous nieces and nephews whom he adored and who will forever miss him."]
