Rita was born in Windber Pa. on the 28th of Oct 1930 to Mary and Nicholas Rodgers.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Husband Chief Petty Officer James K. Duryea; Son John R. and daughter Cindy J. and five sisters and two brothers.
Rita is survived by daughter Jan M, and sons Daniel J and his wife Bobbie and Scott J., numerous Grandchildren, Great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Rita was a Gold Star mother and a retiree of the Ships Parts Control Center at Navy Base Mechanicsburg. And would be known to some in the greater Carlisle area as their school bus driver.
Rita’s ashes will be interred with her husband Jimmy at Gettysburg National Military Cemetery.
