

Robert "Uncle Bob" Stanaland, age 92 passed away at his home in Citrus Heights on December 19, 2020. Bob was born in Roseville, CA on July 7, 1928 to George and Viola Stanaland. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Laurie, and his sisters , Betty, Vida, Jeanie, Marilyn, and Patty. He was also preceded in death by his beautiful granddaughter Erica. Bob is now with his loving wife of 67 years, Rae Marie. They met when he was 19, and married on September 19, 1948 in Carson City, NV. They lived in Citrus Heights for over 60 years. Bob is survived by children Donna Lantz and husband Sam of Rio Linda, Robert Stanaland and wife Linda of Granite Bay, Carolynn Porter and husband Robert of Citrus Heights, Daniel Stanaland and wife Diana of Citrus Heights, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews all who loved him very much. Bob went into the Navy at 17, and served proudly on the USS Tortuga in WWII. Bob was well known throughout the community, and was the first honorary mayor of Citrus Heights. He worked in and around the tile industry for over 60 years, and became one one of the most respected and knowledgeable in his field, capping off his career as the tile inspector for Northern California. His passion for his family, his friends, and his work, will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Bob was laid to rest beside his loving wife Rae Marie, on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Sylvan Cemetery in Citrus Heights, CA, The family is planning a celebration of Bob's life to be be held in July of 2021, and will spread the word as date, time, and place, is set.
