Gerald Duane Davis

December 10, 1940 – December 21, 2016

Gerald (Jerry) Davis passed away peacefully at his home on December 21, 2016 after a brief illness.

Gerald was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. After graduating from High School, he decided to move to San Francisco, CA in aim of attending The San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. Gerald truly excelled in the industry he was so greatly committed to. Gerald’s dedication led him to work as a Deputy Coroner at The San Francisco Coroner’s Office, and hold positions at numerous funeral homes and cemeteries throughout the bay area where he became highly respected by all those he encountered.

Devoted and loving father of Erik Davis (Lorina Palavos, Nick, & Camden) and Jerilyn Shores; loving father in law of Larry Shores; caring Grandfather of Megan & Ryan Davis, and Alyssa & Tyler Shores; loving brother of Donna Hanson, Jacqueline Grubb, Geraldine Gettis, Beatrice Robbins, Beverly Wright, Joann McMackin, the late Patricia Davis, & Evelyn Bogar; thoughtful Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Gerald will be greatly missed by all of his family.

Gerald was a generous, compassionate and loyal human being, with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed his involvement in each lodge he belonged to. Over the years, Gerald was a devoted member of the Masons CA Lodge No.1, Independent Order of Odd Fellows CA Lodge No. 1, Asiya Shriners, Chinese Acacia Club, San Francisco York Rite Bodies, and the Wah Ying Club.

Visitation will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel, 1000 El Camino Real, Colma on Thursday, January 5 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, with the Rosary Vigil at 6:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 6 at 11:00am at St. Peter's Church, 700 Oddstad Boulevard, Pacifica. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1500 Mission Road, Colma.
