Luy Chak Wong was born January 24th, 1940 to humble beginnings in Olongapo, Subic Bay, the Philippine Islands. The oldest brother in a family of six children and an avid athlete, Chak arrived in San Francisco in 1967, where he met and married the love of his life, Rose. He worked as an accountant, and over the next 51 years, he and Rose lived the American dream: raised a wonderful family, ran several successful businesses, and traveled the world with their three children. His skill with languages was legendary, as were his sweet tooth and above all, his generosity. Chak was kind, loving, compassionate, and always welcoming, never turning away those in need. He is remembered for his tireless dedication to his children, and for his loving devotion to Rose, whom he always cherished. Chak was called home to Christ on June 7th, 2018. He is survived by his Wife, Rose; Sons, Eugene (Lori) and Laurence (Rie and granddaughter Hana); and Daughter, Tiffany (Matt). A vigil will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 6PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Colma. A mass will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10AM at Star of the Sea Church in San Francisco.
