Addie C. Smith, 98, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1 pm at the Colorado City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Sunday, March 8th at Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Addie was born on May 24, 1921 in Desdemona, TX to Frederick Mack Spurlen and Cora (Waggoner) Spurlen. She married Eldon Gardner Smith on February 28, 1942 in Eastland, TX. She worked at Anthonys department store as a seamstress doing clothing alternations using her expert sewing skills. She also worked as a cashier at Easy Way Supermarket and Truck Town. She had a definite love for garage sales. If you have ever had a garage sale in Colorado City you probably had the chance to meet Addie. She is survived by daughter Cathey Baker and husband David of Mesa, AZ, son Wes Smith and wife Debbie of Fresno, TX. Grandchildren Laural Koons and husband Carl of Fredericksburg, VA, Brad Madden and wife Stephanie of Mesa, AZ, Heidi Harris and husband Justin of Colorado City, TX, Brooke Atkins and husband Tim of Spring Branch, TX. She had 8 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Verda Eaves. She was preceded in death by husband Eldon Smith and grandson David Smith. Sisters Luva Glenn Drummond, Mary Mack McCord, Bobbie Richardson and her only brother F.L. “Sonny” Spurlen.
