Dwendalin Sue Hess, 74, Colorado City, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Born in Comanche, Texas on April 20, 1941, Sue was the daughter of Floyd and Frances Murphy Tutwiler.
Sue moved to the Colorado City area as a young child and quickly made it her home spending the majority of her life there. Between being a “momma’s girl” and paling around with her favorite sister Lola Sue learned to be the amazing woman that everybody loved. She was one of those people that did not meet a person she did not like and who would do almost anything for almost anybody. Sue was a waitress in the area for many years, working for places such as the Cattleman, and for Truck Town. When she was not spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren Sue could be found playing Bingo out in Snyder or in Big Spring, or just reading a book.
Sue is survived by her children Shirley Robinson and husband Joe of Westbrook, Crystal Parnell and boyfriend Jared Johnson of Colorado City, Hubert Tutwiler and wife Agnes of Phoenix Arizona, Doug Adams and wife Kim of Houston, and Calvin Parnell and girlfriend Tracy Griffith of Big Springs, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Lola Gaddis of Hermleigh, Judy Remy of Snyder, and Grace Blassingame of Abilene, and three special friends Mary Casey, Eugene Ausbie, and Janie Pfeuffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, her sisters Ruby Baurland, and Mattie Bolden, and her brothers Gerald Tutwiler and Floyd Tutwiler Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18 at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with her son the Rev. Hubert Tutwiler officiating; interment will follow at the Westbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday night, July 17 from 6-8 at the funeral home.
