She was born on March 22, 1929 in Fredericksburg, Texas to the late Raphael and Maria DeJesus Amara Martinez.
Ann was a proud independent woman who was very vocal when she felt strongly about something. She enjoyed living on her own and stayed active doing the things she enjoyed all the way up until the end. She had her own little home next to her son Tony Jr. where she enjoyed creating a beautiful garden each year. In her younger years she taught her children the value of hard work, making them help in the cotton fields picking rows of cotton and pulling weeds. She was an accomplished seamstress, throughout the years she made many shirts, dresses, and other clothing for her family and would iron for those in the community in order to stretch a dollar. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, almost anything crafty such as painting, making blankets or quilts, and anything she could with a sewing needle. Ann loved all her family and her family loved her, the lessons learned and the love shared will be cherished by all that knew her.
Ann is survived by her sons Antonio Duran Jr. and wife Irene of Odessa, Albert Duran of Los Lunas New Mexico, and Adam Duran and wife Debbie of Los Lunas New Mexico and by daughters Guale Duran Owens of Odessa and Gloria Sanders of Los Lunas New Mexico as well as by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren including one great-grandson who is currently in the oven. She is also survived by a brother Anestacio Garza of Albuquerque New Mexico, by a sister Juanita Garza of Albuquerque New Mexico as well as by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
