Genevieve D Edwards

Jean went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2013, at the age of 88 years. Services will be at 10 AM Monday, May. 6, 2013 in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Colorado City Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale funeral home.

Jean was born April 12, 1925, in Drumright, Oklahoma. She married her high school sweetheart, Ira Edwards on February 3, 1946 in Shamrock, OK. The couple was happily married for 64 years, until Ira preceded her in death in August 25, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two brothers.

Jean has been a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Colorado City since 1970.She taught numerous children's classes, ministered to shut-ins, and touched many, many lives. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, carpentry, baking, spending time with family, & just "keeping busy".

She is survived by 3 children: Mike Edwards and wife, Linda of Divide, Colorado; Melody and husband, David Stubblefield of Colorado City, Texas; Daniel and wife, Debra Edwards of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She had 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 more great grandsons to be born this summer. She will be greatly missed by all.
