She was born in Westbrook, Texas on September 10, 1943 to Carl and Clara May Morris.
Glenda was a lifelong resident of Mitchell County. Spending most of her life there until she moved to Vernon in 2018 to be closer to her family.
She married Tom Tarter in Westbrook, Texas in 1960. The two of them were blessed with four children.
Glenda worked for many years as the Business Office Manager at Mitchell County Hospital. She preferred being at home enjoying activities with her family and friends. She was a great mother and grandmother. Always ready for family and friends, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking family meals and holiday candy. Glenda also worked hard over the years improving her family home.
Family and friends will dearly miss her.
Glenda is survived by two sons, Ronald Jay Tarter of Lubbock and Tracy Tarter and wife Dana of Vernon, daughter Rhonda Gay Jenkins and husband Terry of Lubbock, granddaughter Mackenzie and husband Luke and their child Hollis Ryan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Clara Morris, by a son Stacey Tarter, and by her brothers Pete Morris, James Morris, Chester Morris, Melvin Morris, Glen Morris, and Lynn Morris, Cecil Morris, and sister Flora Hart.
A funeral service for Glenda will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 2 pm in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel. Gospel Preacher Foy Forehand will officiate.
The family will be present for a visitation on Friday, April 19th from 5-7 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
