

James Dewitt Myers, age 48, of Colorado City, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at his residence. A graveside service will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014 in the Colorado City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
James was born June 19, 1965 in Colorado City to Dewitt and Sheridan Davis Myers and had been a lifelong resident of Colorado City. He attended schools in Colorado City and was a member of the graduating class of 1983. He received an associate degree from North Texas State in Denton and another associated degree from South Plains College in Levelland. He then returned to Colorado City to join the family business later being the owner and operator of Myers Auto Parts. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the C-C Riders Car Club.
He is survived by his mother, Sheridan Cook and husband Darrell of Burleson, TX; a brother, David and wife Sharon Myers of Lubbock; sisters: Sherry Nell Powell and husband, David of Munster, TX, June Evans of Joshua, TX, and Dondee Stehn and husband Kevin of Venus, TX; nephews: Adam, Hank, Tyler and Frankie; nieces: Betsy, Amber, Mandy, Joni, Amanda and Samantha; great nephews: Derek, Ian, Andrew, Lantz, Rylan and Liam; great nieces: Jewel and Kennedy (yet to be born); an aunt, Daisy Nell Black and numerous cousins, lifelong best friend, Tracey Tarter and his wife, Dana; and a host of friends and customers.
He is preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Maurine and Alton Myers, his father, Dewitt Myers and several uncles and aunts.
Memorials are suggested to the C-C Riders Car Club or the Colorado City Volunteer Fire Department.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
