

She was born on March 25, 1955 in Celaya Guanajuato, Mexico to Thomas and Maria De La Luz Hernandez Canada.
Raquel was a very humble, understanding and strong woman who fought to the end. Family meant everything to her, she was always caring for and worrying about her children and grandchildren, ready to drop everything to go and be by their sides when she was needed, and she will always be loved and missed. She was always known for her down to earth attitude. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and cooking. Her home always smelt like a restaurant as she took her cooking very seriously, perfecting many dishes that were loved by all who got to enjoy them.
She is survived by her children Norma Cano and husband Pablo of Blackwell, Olivia Espinoza and husband Jose of Blackwell, Raquel Sanchez and husband Jose of Bryan, and Pablo Alfaro Jr. and wife Dottie of Watford City, North Dakota. Also surviving are her grandchildren Armando, Jesse, Franck, Charlie, Rebecca, Luz, Sean, Adriana, Adan, Natalie, Serena, and Julian, as well as by her great grandchild, Judy Marie. Another great-grandchild Dawsyn is due to be here soon. Raquel also leaves behind several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews to cherish her memory.
A mass of Christian burial for Raquel will be held on Friday, February 26th at 10 am at St. Ann’s Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating, burial will follow in the Mitchell County Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for a visitation on Thursday, February 25th from 6-8 pm at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home with a rosary to be held at 7 pm.
