He was born in Colorado City on November 20, 1926 to Onnie and Arma Brasuell Watlington. He was raised in the Buford Community and served his country earning a World War II Victory Medal.
Raymond had a farmer’s heart and loved farming for nearly 60 years. He was also a devout Christian of the Church of Christ for most of his life. Raymond had a saying that we heard many times, if you cannot lift a hand to help a fellow man then don’t raise a hand to harm him. Raymond loved his family well. He truly was the definition of a patriarch. We as his family will carry his kind words and hard work ethics the rest of our lives. His legacy will live on through all the memories we hold deep in our hearts. Chief ! We all love you bunches.
Raymond is survived by his sons Charles Ray Watlington and Larry Don Watlington and wife Carolyn both of Colorado City, by grandchildren Ty Watlington and wife Nikki of Colorado City, Heath Watlington and wife Gracie of Abilene, Joe Watlington of Sealy, Matt Watlington of Amarillo, and Luke Kuss and wife Sarah Ann of Colorado City, and by great-granddaughters Jaiden Watlington, Keyley Watlington, and Emma Watlington as well as by a great grandson Edwin Kuss.
