He was born on November 14, 1973 in Colorado City to Francisco and Petra Vigil Fuentes.
Richard was a loving man who loved his family with all of his heart. He spent over 15 years as a corrections officer working at the Smith Unit in Lamesa, the Cornell Unit in Big Spring, and at both the Ware and Wallace Units in Colorado City until health complications made him retire at an early age. He was a true survivor having beat leukemia after a lengthy battle. Richard will always be remembered as a loving husband, son, brother, stepfather, and PaPa. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing, tinkering on his pickup truck or cooking up some barbeque. In his spare time he could be seen fishing with his wife Rebecca, shopping at freight harbor or Bass Pro Shop who both knew him by name, working on his vehicle or his home, or doing anything outdoors while listening to his favorite music on Pandora. He also enjoyed collecting watches and knives. Richard will be missed dearly by his whole family and the times shared will be memories cherished forever.
Richard is survived by his wife Rebecca Fuentes of Westbrook, by his mother Petra Fuentes of Westbrook, his stepchildren Marcus Dodd and wife Marianna of Big Spring and Laura Dodd of Big Spring, by his grandchildren Wyatt, Maria, Isabella, and Ana and by his mother-in-law Peggy Wildenstein of South New Berlin, New York.
