He was born Deceber 17, 1948 in Sinton, Texas the son of Simon and Matiana Tamez Reyna.
Richard was a simple man who put his family at the front of his life, making sure to put their needs first. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, and he held a special place in his heart for all his grandchildren. He was a man who believed that hard work was the key to success in life spending many years doing railroad construction. He was very easy going and could make friends with almost anyone and was there to help any time somebody needed him. In his spare time he could be seen listening to his music, especially conjunto music which was his favorite, he even spent time traveling to conjunto music festivals to listen to his favorite bands.
Richard is survived by his wife Anita Reyna of Colorado City, his sons Richard Reyna Jr. of Colorado City and Jacob Reyna and wife Amanda of Colorado City, and by his grandchildren Jadon Reyna, Jayson Reyna, and Jaylee Reyna all of Colorado City and Anthony Joseph Reyna of Littlefield. Also surviving are his brothers Santiago Reyna and wife Loretta of Lubbock and Henry Reyna of Colorado City, and his sisters Balerina Preciado and husband Angel of Colorado City and a sister Felicita Zurita and husband Reuben of Sweetwater. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends also survive.
A Funeral Mass for Richard will be held on Saturday, October 14th at 10 at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating.
The family will be present for a visitation Friday, October 13th from 6-8 pm with a rosary to be performed at 7 pm at Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
