

COLUMBIA – Anne Sullivan, 93, beloved wife of the late John E. Sullivan, entered her Heavenly home on Saturday, December 17, 2016. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Born in Leominster, Mass., she was a daughter of the late Andrew David and Louise Marie Tricot Guy. Her family moved to Atlanta, Ga. where she graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Anne and John Sullivan were married in Atlanta in 1941. Following WWII, they moved to Columbia where they were devoted members of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Their nine children attended Catholic schools – St. Peter, St. Joseph, Catholic High and Cardinal Newman. Anne was a member of St. Joseph’s Women’s Society (Walsh Guild). She loved her family, her children’s activities, dancing, volunteering at Providence Hospital, St. Joseph Church and School, Ursuline Associate Respite Care and Cardinal Newman Booster Club. Surviving are her sons, Guy Sullivan (Debby), Chuck Sullivan, all of Columbia; daughters, Maureen S. Tilley (Jim) of Bristol, Va., Mary Jane Barrie, Eileen Sullivan, Katy S. Cleary (Kevin), all of the Columbia area; son-in-law, Parker Connor; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister, Sister Julienne Guy, an Ursuline Sister of Louisville, Ky. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Edward Sullivan; a son, John Edward Sullivan Jr.; daughters, Joanie S. Connor and Peggy S.
