Mrs. Belinda Jane Jones

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Belinda Jane “BJ” Jones will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Shandon Presbyterian Church Activities Center. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The burial will be private at Millcreek Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. BJ was born on December 4, 1954 in Osceola, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Emmitt Jones and Eloise Dell Morris. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and received her Master’s degree from Georgia State University. She worked many years for Georgia Pacific in Atlanta, and later lived in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved to Columbia in March 2007. She was a faithful member of Shandon Presbyterian Church and was a lifelong Presbyterian. She volunteered extensively at the Atlanta Zoo, Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens, and Animal Mission. She loved all of God’s creatures, and especially her two dogs, Sunny and Belle, and her tomcat, Frankie. Jane is survived by her twin brother, William E. “Bill” Jones (Celeste); niece, Julia Jones Foster (Keller); nephew, William Jones, Jr.; and great-nephews, Wells Foster and Rawlins Foster.
