A native of Ord, Nebraska, she was born February 18, 1950, the daughter of Hans and Helen Hansen.
Carolyn was a very passionate, caring person who loved teaching Spanish at the University of South Carolina. She enjoyed flowers, photography, reading books, chocolate and watching the Lady Gamecocks play. Carolyn was known for her quick sense of humor and terrible puns.
Survivors include her sister; Chris Hansen and her brother in law, Jim Slater, her brother; Mike Hansen and her sister in law, Loree, a nephew; Matt, a niece, Meagan and her husband Chris.
Carolyn never had her own pets, but had a special bond with her sister’s corgi, Johnny.
She leaves behind many friends, but was especially close to Paulette Jimenez, Ed and Ginny Aylward, and Bill Reynolds. If Carolyn loved you, you knew it.
