Chris had several interests and hobbies which included movies, music, bowling, sports, and Special Olympics. He spent most of his working career at the Columbiana Grand movie theater, which was a love and passion of his. He also worked at a local music/movie shop, Scratch N Spin where he was able to interact with customers and talk about his favorite entertainment topics and facts. On Saturdays, it was all about his Gamecocks, and on Sundays, his Washington Redskins.
Chris was always happy to help anyone and never met a stranger. No matter what the subject, there was always a conversation to be had.
He also remained active in Special Olympics where he won medals in various events that he competed in, but bowling was his main competition. Even outside of Special Olympics, Chris remained active in numerous bowling leagues around the Columbia and West Columbia areas. During his time with us, Chris touched so many lives and hearts. He always left an everlasting impression with everyone he knew.
Chris is survived by his mother, Diane Paulette Ritter; his brother, William Brian Ritter; sister-in-law, Amy Elizabeth Ritter; niece, Savannah Jane Ritter. He was preceded in death by his father, James “Ickie” Ritter and his nephew, James Spencer Nolan Ritter.
No memorial arrangements have been made at this time, but we hope to plan something in the future when it’s safer for group gatherings.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at www.dunbarfunerals.com
