Christine Faile Setzer

Columbia – A funeral service for Christine F. Setzer, 97, will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with a private burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Setzer died Saturday, October 4, 2018. Born November 29, 1920 in Rock Hill, SC, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Esther Z. Faile. Christine was predeceased by her husband for 50 years, Omar Lee Setzer; daughter, Lee Setzer Parrish; three brothers; and one sister.

Christine worked for the South Carolina Department of Transportation and retired in July 1983. Mrs Setzer was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia for 42 years. She also enjoyed her dear friends in the Happy Coeds Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her two sons, Larry J. Setzer (Sylvia) of Charlotte, NC, and David W. Setzer (Carol) of Irmo, SC; son-in-law Jack Parrish; six grandchildren, Cathie S. Baughman, Mark Parrish, Kyle Setzer, Kurt Setzer, Kara S. Stevens, and Kate S. Burnett; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Columbia, 1306 Hampton St, Columbia, SC 29201.
