COLUMBIA Memorial service for Darlene McDonald McEntire, 62, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. McEntire died Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Born in Darlington County, she was a daughter of the late D. LeGette and Sammye M.H. Hawkins McDonald. A graduate of the University of SC, she worked as a kindergarten teacher at Ft. Jackson. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to the beach. Surviving are her husband, Carroll E. “C.E.” McEntire Jr.; sister, Tammy Odom (Buddy) of Laurel Hill, N.C; nieces and nephews, Kassie and Brad Odom, Jim and Jeff Nash. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Rose Derrick and brother-in-law, Charles Derrick. Memorials may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1127 Olympia Avenue, Columbia, SC 29201.
