

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Donald Wells Ballentine, Sr., 71, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Ballentine died Monday, December 21, 2015. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Wells Fulmer Ballentine and Viola Blanche Epting Ballentine. Mr. Ballentine was a graduate of Columbia High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College. He was the owner and operator of American Drywall. He was a member of Earlwood Masonic Lodge and St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth Tabor Ballentine; son, Donald “Donnie” W. Ballentine, Jr. of Lexington; grandchildren, Wells Ballentine, Jonah Palmer, Brooks Ballentine, Brandt Henry and Evelyn Henry; brother, Chevis Ballentine (Emily) of Chapin; sisters, Marjorie Price (Lawrence) of Columbia and Patsy Cowell (Francis) of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer Ballentine Henry. Memorials may be made to Greenville Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
