COLUMBIA - A private family service for Emma “Nicki” Hughes White, 96, will be held at a later date at Eastminster Presbyterian Church with entombment in the church columbarium. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. White died Saturday, December 17, 2016. Born in Parkton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Luther E. and Mary Florence Johnson Hughes. She attended the University of N.C. Greensboro and was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church where she was involved in many areas of the church. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Phillips (Terry) of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Kenny, Thomas and Katie Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Allie and Willow Grace, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Dixon White Jr.; sisters, Lee Ona Phillips, Mary Florence Hughes, Grace Baker, Gladys Hughes; and two brothers, Edwin Hughes and Duncan Hughes.
