

COLUMBIA - Gloria Marie Price Boyce, of Columbia, entered Heaven on December 20, 2015, and was welcomed by her Savior with a “well done, good and faithful servant.” She was a beloved wife and a loving, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She brought beauty, joy and happiness to those around her with her creative talents with her portraits, painting, charcoal sketches and floral design to name only a few and was a domestic engineer extraordinaire. She, along with her wit and talent will be greatly missed by her family, friends and associates. Mrs. Boyce was a member of North Trenholm Baptist Church; Director of High School Senior Department for several years; member of Committee on Committees; Publicity Committee; Personnel Committee; coordinator of North Trenholm hospital volunteers; North Trenholm Expansion ’80 Committee; served the Cancer Crusade as Division Chairman; was a member of the S.C. Baptist Hospital Volunteers; served as President of the Hammond Academy Parents Club; on numerous PTA boards; and served for a number of years as a volunteer school nurse. She was active in garden clubs, Department 56 clubs, and other artistic, floral, and charity pursuits during her lifetime of giving and creativity. She attended Judson College, Marion, Alabama, where she was a member of the Apprentice Players and completed her education at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and a Sigma Nu Sweetheart. She was also a graduate of the S.C. Baptist Hospital's Nursing School. Mrs. Boyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. William Arthur Boyce, her parents, Rev. Christopher Bradley Price and Hazel Anita Dempsey Price, a sister, Lydia Jane Price, and two great-grandsons, Price Jaron Helps and Finn Helps. She is survived by her daughters: Gloria Bradelynn (Stephen) Boyce-Dendy, Deborah Anita (Lyth) Boyce Clark and Lynda Suzan Boyce-Hill; one sister, Mrs. Helen Ward of Florence, S.C.; six grandsons: David Rhude (Dawn) Helps, Jr., Christopher Bradley (Stacey) Helps, Justin Andrew Helps; Brannon Boyce (Kristen) Wilds, William Arthur (Ashley) Wilds, and Matthew Logan Hill; and ten great-grandchildren: David Lee Helps, Ethan Bannon Helps, Faith Marie Helps, William Restrepo Helps, Zane LaRue Helps, Griffinn Price Helps, Vandy Walt Sloan Helps, Sophia Lee Wilds, Brock Michael Wilds, and William Arthur Wilds, Jr. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home on Devine Street. Services will be held at North Trenholm Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park following services.
