Mr. Hugh Farquhar Robinson

COLUMBIA Mr. Hugh Farquhar Robinson, 86, died September 9, 2014. Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, S.C. at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014. Friends may call following the service at the residence. Mr. Robinson was born in St. Mathews, S.C. and was the son of the late Peter Bartow Robinson and Sarah Wienges Robinson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Mr. Robinson was president of Carolina Nationalease until his retirement in 1982. For thirty years he was a member of the Executives Association of Greater Columbia and served as president in 1974-75. Hugh was a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his sons, Dr. Hugh Coleman Robinson and his wife, Debra of Greenwood, S.C., and Ronald Gene Robinson and his wife, Denise of Jacksonville, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Abigail and Zach Robinson of Greenwood, S.C., Cole and twins, Grayson and Whitt Robinson all of Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Robinson was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Jeanne Coleman Robinson. Also predeceasing Mr. Robinson were his brothers, Peter Bartow Robinson Jr. and Hydrick Wienges Robinson of St. Matthews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
