James Willie Smith

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for James Willie Smith, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith died Wednesday, October 27, 2021. Born in Pembroke, NC, he was a son of the late Weldon Smith and Magalean Jacobs. He worked for Breakthrough Beverage for 40 years. James loved the Gamecocks, animals such as chickens, rabbits, and horses, fishing, and the outdoors. His grandkids were his life. He attended Church of God of Prophecy.

Surviving are his children, Brandon Smith and Kayla Smith, both of Cayce, SC; grandchildren, Savannah Smith, Gracie Smith, and Caroline Sell; brother, Rodney Jacobs of Columbia, SC; sisters, Barbara McLean (Robert) of Columbia, SC, Peggy Blackwell (Ronnie) of North Carolina, Maude Phipps of Lexington, SC, Debbie Smith of West Columbia, SC, Tracie Smith of Pelion, SC, and Herbert Smith (Cindy) of Lexington, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Randy Jacobs, brother, Arnold Jacobs, and brother-in-law, Gene Phipps.
