Jo Ann Kalmbach Campbell

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Jo Ann Kalmbach Campbell, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Campbell passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Born in Toledo, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Ronald Lynn Kalmbach and Margaret Hawkins Kalmbach. A graduate of Dreher High School in 1959 and the University of South Carolina, she worked for Boyle-Vaughan Insurance as a Claims Adjuster.

Jo Ann Campbell always had a smile and a kind word to share with her fellow man. She loved needlework and created beautiful pieces that her family members will treasure at all festive seasons of the year, knowing there were hugs and kisses in every stitch. She enjoyed all God’s creatures, particularly her horses, her cats, and the hummingbirds zooming about her yard. She treasured time with family and friends on mountain and beach trips. She adored her family and was happiest when surrounded by them all.

Surviving are her husband, James “Jimmie” Y. Campbell, Jr.; son, Jamie Campbell (Denise) of Cayce, SC; daughter, Julie Sohm (Howie) of Holly Hill, SC; grandson, Will Sohm (Georgie) of Columbia; granddaughter, Jacey Sohm (fiancé Allston Warren) of Hopkins, SC; great-granddaughter, Cadence Sohm; her sister, Robin Mahaffey (Kay); and her sister Bee Manning.

The family wishes to thank Morgan Clyburn of Hands and Hearts as well as the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at Baptist Hospital.
