COLUMBIA - John Anne Delleney Love, passed away peacefully at home on Monday October 31, 2022. John Anne was born in Charleston, SC in 1936 to the late Essie Robinson Delleney and John Dawkins Delleney.
She was given the name Nonnie by her nephew Kenny (KP) and was lovingly called that by most. Nonnie loved her family, the Gamecocks but most of all Jesus.
She loved traveling with her kids, grandchildren and her sister/best friend Bobbie. Always fond of our SC coast, she also developed a love for South Florida and the Bahamas. She definitely had saltwater in her veins and passed that love of the coast on to her children. She also passed on her love of all Gamecock sports and retired from the football office at the University of South Carolina. Nonnie was an amazing friend, aunt, sister, grandmother and great grandmother but most of all we were truly Blessed to have her as our mother.
We can all rejoice in knowing that Nonnie is safe with God and reunited with her late son, Johnny Love and sister, Bobbie Price along with so many other friends and loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Love; her son, Michael Love and their sister, Charity Love. Nonnie had eight grandchildren, Hamilton Hollis, Natalie Potts, Delleney Love, Tobae O’Neal, Molly Love, Blake Love, Lance Love, Johanna Love, twelve great grandchildren and one on the way. She adored her cousins, nieces, nephews, awesome lifelong friends and ALL Gamecock fans.
The family extends special, heartfelt thanks to Nonnie’s caregivers, Pat, Christie, Saundra, Mary, Ninky, Kathy and Rebecca, whom fast became a part of our family. We will forever be grateful for their constant love, care and support.
Memorial contributions may be made in Nonnie’s honor to: Samaritans Purse, httpd://samaritanspurse.org or to Gold Star Teen Adventures, https://gstadventures.org
