Jack graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In 1966, Jack and George LaBrasca became friends and business partners in LaBrasca’s 5 Minute Pizza. George liked Jack Jackson the moment he met him. He was a big, strapping man with a no-nonsense approach to business and a great sense of humor. George and Jack became the best of friends and business partners. George sold him the restaurant, and it can be said, certainly the people of Columbia know that the popularity and profitability of the place was due not only to skillful management, but to the warm and friendly treatment Jack Jackson gave to all who walked through his doors. Jack also had Jesudi’s restaurant in the 1970’s.
Jack is survived by his wife, Bonny; his daughters, Jennifer Jackson and Suzanne Nagy (Greg); stepchildren, Kristie Murphy and Matt Murphy (Eva); grandchildren, John Nagy
and Anna Reid Nagy. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Ashley Jackson.
There will be a celebration of life in loving memory of Jack Jackson for family and friends on Sunday, May 25, 2014, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at LaBrasca’s 5 Minute Pizza. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
The family requests memorials be made to Epworth Children’s Home, 2900 Millwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29205.
