COLUMBIA - A graveside service for Katherine B. Dent, 96, will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016, in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Matt Yon officiating. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Dent, wife of the late Benjamin McDonald Dent, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Born on September 26, 1919 in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Verner Bickley and Annie Mae Wheeler Bickley. Katherine graduated from the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. She worked as a registered nurse at Columbia Hospital, Providence Hospital, and retired from Manor Care Nursing Home. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving are her son, Benjamin McDonald “Don” Dent, Jr. (Maureen) of St. Louis, Missouri; and granddaughter, Emma Blythe Dent.
