Mrs. Mary Ann McPherson

COLUMBIA - Mary Ann McPherson was born in Pittsburgh, P.A. on Octobert 7, 1922. She passed away peacefully on July 21, 2016. Mary Ann had a wonderful life as the wife of a U.S. Air Force officer and pilot, Bud McPherson. The life of an officer’s wife suited Mary Ann well and gave her the opportunity to travel the world. She loved the social life of a military wife. Mary Ann loved her family, bridge, traveling, and family gatherings. Mary Ann is survived by her children, Dale McPherson, Marilyn Slack (Ron), and Doug McPherson (Deborah); grandchildren, Michael Sammons (Lisa), Holly Griffith (Jeff), Heather McPherson, and Erin McPherson Bisca (Tommy). She was predeceased by her husband, Bud McPherson; parents, William Cordell and Ruth Noll Cordell; brother, Wayne Cordell; and sister, Helen Harvey. Mary Ann loved the many pet cats and dogs she had throughout her life. Mary Ann’s family thanks the Palmetto Health Richland ICU Staff and the Palmetto Health Hospice Staff for their kind care of Mary Ann and their friendliness and kindness to her family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Northeast Presbyterian Church, Grand Hall (Fellowship Center). The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
