Born in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on December 18, 1984, he was the cherished son of Michael Green Finnell and Deborah House Finnell Willing.
Michael moved to South Carolina at an early age, where his love for the outdoors blossomed. His passion for nature grew through his involvement in Boy Scouts and his upbringing in Lake Village on the shores of Lake Murray. His enthusiasm for fishing and hunting instilled a deep appreciation for the great outdoors in his children.
Michael served as a dedicated draftsman doing work that made his family proud. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. As a loving father, he treasured every moment spent with his children, whether at fairs, camping trips, fishing excursions on lakes and rivers, or traveling together to Falmouth to visit extended family. A lifelong car enthusiast, Michael had a profound love for all things automotive, often spending countless hours tinkering with his beloved car.
Michael's warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father, Michael Finnell of Mashpee, MA; his mother, Deborah Willing of Columbia, SC; his sons, Michael Everett Finnell, Jr., Stephen Avery Head, and Scott Wesley Lufkin; his daughter, Lyla Finnell; his stepdaughter, Karley Fail; and his sisters, Stephanie Finnell of Shanghai, China, Alison Bourne of Falmouth, MA, and Rebecca Duffy of Treasure Island, FL.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to memorial services in both Columbia, South Carolina, and Falmouth, Massachusetts.
