LEXINGTON - Nick James Leventis, 71, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 surrounded by family. Nick was the son of the late Toula Prekezes Leventis and the late James Pete Leventis. He was born April 20, 1954, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a 1972 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and a 1976 graduate of the University of South Carolina where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
A loving father, son, partner, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Nick developed real estate for over 30 years in Lexington, Columbia, and surrounding areas where he was the co-founder of NKD, Inc. and founder of Leigh Leventis Realty and NJ Leventis Enterprises. Prior to starting a career in real estate development, Nick helped his mother run the family restaurant, The Winners Circle, after his father passed.
He was an avid Gamecock fan (he’ll never admit it but he did cheer for the Clemson Tigers too when going to games with his daughter), thoroughly enjoyed trips to his condo in Folly Beach, and loved fixing things around the house and taking trips to Lowe’s to get yet another hammer and various tools to add to his collection. Nick was most proud of his two daughters, Hagen Leventis (Chris) Balog and Natalie Dawn Leventis and grandson John Christopher Balog (1 month). Nick lived his life to the fullest. With his infectious smile and friendly personality, Nick never made anyone feel like a stranger and offered kindness and generosity to everyone he met. Along with his daughters and grandson, Nick is survived by his loving partner, Venoa Joan Marshall, brother Leigh James Leventis (Jenny), his sisters Elena Maria Leventis, Gigi Leventis Lewis (Robert) and Athena Joanne Leventis, his “stepson” Ryan Ashford Marshall, his thirteen nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children, all his Leventis cousins, his former wife and mother of his children, Stacey Hagenlocher Leventis and so many of his incredible friends. He was predeceased by his father, mother, brother, James James “Jim” Leventis, and his nephew, James Leigh “Jamie” Leventis. Nick will be greatly missed, but his memory will be eternal.
A visitation for Nick will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1900 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201.
