COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Patricia Thomas Brooks, 82, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brooks died Sunday, April 12, 2026. Born in Charleston, SC, she was a daughter of the late Martin J. Thomas and Mary Lee Ballentine Thomas. A graduate of Dreher High School, she continued her education at the University of South Carolina. She worked as a Special Education and Kindergarten aide at Windsor Elementary. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and playing bridge.
Surviving are her daughters, Suzanne and Catherine (Christopher); grandson, Eric; sister, Dolores Watson; brother, Raymond Thomas (Ann); and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Allen Brooks.
