Paul Evans Lovingood

Dr. Paul Evans Lovingood of Lexington, SC passed away on January 31, 2021 at the age of 90. He was born in Sylva, NC to Paul Richard and Anne Evans Lovingood on December 21, 1930. He received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and was a professor of Geography at the University of South Carolina for many years. He was named Distinguished Professor Emeritus upon his retirement in May 1989. He was an Army veteran.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sara Kate Davis Lovingood, with whom he recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. He is also survived by his sisters Anna Kate Pratt and Patsy Parker, his brother Knox Lovingood (Ruth), and his children Kevin Lovingood, Belinda Lennon (Doug), Vivian Lovingood, his grandson Roy Greene (Mary) and great-grandchildren Jackson Greene and Carolina Greene.

Paul will be inurned at Eastminster Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden where a committal service will be held on Saturday February 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends after the service.
