Robert Bruce Tandy

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Robert Bruce Tandy, 50, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel with Pastor Richard Rusnak officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Tandy passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on August 31, 1967, he was a son of Henry “Harry” James Tandy and Anna Hynd Tandy both of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Named after the king of Scotland, Robert the Bruce, Mr. Tandy was proud of his Scottish Heritage and loved to research his ancestry. Bruce was a very loving, creative, and caring person who loved chatting with people, and he would’ve given you the shirt off his back if you asked. He will be greatly missed. He was also a member of First Church of God.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his brother, Kenneth James Tandy of Wilmington, Delaware; sisters, Jocelyn Tandy Coverdale (Ned) of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and Gail Tandy Chapman (Chris) of Columbia; nephew and niece, Kenneth James Tandy, Jr. and Jaclyn Marie Tandy, both of Wilmington, Delaware; and his cat, Budha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Church of God, 2665 Covenant Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
