Ruth D. Winburn

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Ruth Douglas Winburn, 101, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Hartsville, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Miss Winburn died Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in Hartsville, she was a daughter of the late Cordy Theodore and Carrie Ella Ousley Winburn. She selflessly dedicated her life to caring for her family. She worked tirelessly in the work of the Lord through children’s ministries in the following churches: Cedar Creek Baptist in Hartsville and Tabernacle Baptist, Eastside Baptist and Calvary Baptist in Columbia. Surviving are her nephew, Kenneth M. Hoffman Sr. and his wife, Bernie of Columbia; great-nieces and nephews, Kenneth Hoffman Jr., Michael Hoffman, Carrie Jones and her husband, Steve, Jessica Hoffman, Jonathan Hoffman and his wife, Brittany; great-great-nieces and nephew, Faith Jones, Kara McKenzie Hoffman, Brian Hoffman. She was predeceased by two brothers, Manning and Paul Winburn and two sisters, Sarah Winburn and Carolyn Burden. The family wishes to recognize the staff of UniHealth Post-Acute Care Columbia, LLC, for their respect and tender loving care.
