Mrs. Turnipseed passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024. Born in Richland County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Howell Ross and Spivey Wages Ross. She retired from Richland School District Two and was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. Shirley loved sewing, cooking, and spending time and caring for her granddaughter, Kelsi.
Surviving are her son, Troy A. Turnipseed of Elgin, SC; daughter, Sherry Cook (Leon) of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Kelsi Cook; sisters, JoAnn Richardson of Columbia, SC and Desiree Ross McLaughlin of Elgin, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilson Turnipseed, Jr. and sisters, Mary Moore and Betty White.
