

COLUMBIA - Services for Sotiris P. Fikas “Sam”, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (Sumter & Calhoun Streets). Burial will take place in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens (2603 Two Notch Road). The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Monday, September 22, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with Trisagion Prayers being held at 7:30 p.m. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Sotiris P. Fikas, beloved husband of the late Alexandra Mavron Fikas, passed away peacefully Thursday morning September 18, 2014. Born in Tymphrestos, Greece, he was the son of the late Panayotis and Athanasia Fikas. Mr. Fikas proudly served in the United States Army for over 22 years. After his retirement from the military he volunteered for many years with the Red Cross, and was a faithful parishioner at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Surviving are his children: daughter, Lily S. Black and her husband, Rodney; daughter, Anita Rickman and her husband, Chris; son, Peter S. Fikas; son, Tom S. Fikas and his wife, Linda; daughter, Dina S. Fikas; grandchildren, McKenzie Alexandra Rickman, Ian Christopher Rickman, and Michael Andrew Fikas. May his memory be eternal.
