COLUMBIA Susie Summer Haltiwanger Ashley, wife of the late Joseph Eugene Ashley, died Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was a daughter of Charles Summer Haltiwanger and Elizabeth McCaughrin Haltiwanger. She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Ashley, Jr. of Philipsburg, Montana; her daughter, Summer A. Holmes (William J. Holmes III) of Sumter and three grandchildren, Sydney Marie Ashley, William J. Holmes IV and Benjamin Caldwell Holmes. She is also survived by her brother, James Nance Haltiwanger (Maxie) and her sister, Elizabeth H. Egan (Tommy), sister-in-law, Cheryl L. Haltiwanger, all of Columbia. Mrs. Ashley was predeceased by a brother, Charles S. Haltiwanger, Jr. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m.to 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. A private burial will be held at a later date.
