COLUMBIA - Thomas Waddell Bruner of Columbia died on August 28, 2014. Burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery. Born in Columbia, SC on September 27, 1946, Tom was the son of the late William Wallace Bruner and Grace Waddell. He graduated from Dreher High School in 1964 and then graduated from Baptist College at Charleston, where he majored in business management and minored in economics. Tom was a loan officer for Standard Federal Savings and Loan and a mortgage broker with The Hinks Company and Carolina Mortgage Corporation. Tom is survived by his sons Thomas W. Bruner, Jr. of Columbia, John Downs Bruner and Michael Truesdale Bruner (Evelyn) of Charleston; his grandchildren Caleb Michael Bruner, Mattie Mae Bruner and Kirkman Holland; and his brother James Livingston Bruner (Diane) of Columbia. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother William Wallace Bruner, Jr. Memorials in Tom’s memory may be made to Harvest Hope Food Bank or to Shandon United Methodist Church.
