Thomas Allen Burdette

COLUMBIA - Thomas A. Burdette, 64, died on January 14th, 2015. He was born in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania on May 13th, 1950. He was the son of the late Robert and Claire Burdette. Tom is survived by his wife, Frances Hopkins Burdette; his sons, Todd Burdette (Jennifer), Travis Burdette (Stephanie), John Burdette (Liliana); brother, Bob Burdette (Mickey); sister, Tracy Marschik (Bob); stepchildren, Melissa Hedrick (Kenny), Tina Dinkins, John Dinkins, James Dinkins (Natasha); 13 grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

He graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College where he lettered in golf and basketball. He was member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Tom enjoyed a longtime career in the beverage industry with companies that included PepsiCo, Coors Brewery and Monster Energy.

Tom was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. Tom loved his Pittsburgh Steelers, playing golf, and sitting on the beach with his family. He enjoyed grilling burgers for his buddies when they played “Wild Hogs” on their motorcycles. His family and friends will always remember him riding in his red Mustang convertible spreading good cheer in his Santa suit. He will be remembered for his enduring laughter.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
