

COLUMBIA A funeral service for Sgt. 1st Class Thomas Edward Duncan (U.S. Army, Retired), 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Sgt. Duncan died Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Born in Mullan, Idaho, he was a son of the late Tom and Gladys Fife Duncan. Sgt. Duncan retired from the U.S. Army, having been a P.O.W. during the Korean War. Following his retirement, he worked for Richland School District 1. He served as Past Commander of VFW # 641 and Ex-P.O.W. Palmetto Chapter. He was a lifetime member of American Legion and Disabled Veterans of America. In addition, he was an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are his wife, J. Annette Duncan; daughters, Cheryl Jones (Calvin), Mandy Pritchard (Steve); granddaughter, Tyia Craven; grandson, Tommy Lloyd; sister, Rachel Barche; brother, Charles Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Steve Duncan of California; daughter, Naomi Lloyd of Oregon; grandson, Nicholas Pritchard; and a brother, George Duncan of Washington.
