COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Thomas Williamson Thornton, Jr., 87, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18th, 2022 at Sherwood Forest ARP Church, 4325 Wilmot Ave, Columbia, SC 29205. Reverends Russ Harless and Ronald Beard will officiate. A reception in the fellowship hall will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Thornton died Sunday, November 6, 2022. Born in Elberton, Georgia, he was the son of the late Thomas Williamson Thornton, Sr. and Frances Yarbrough Thornton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Beth “Penny” Thornton.
Surviving are his son, Thomas Thornton, III, daughter, Emily Thornton and granddaughter, Olivia Thornton.
