Zachary Watts Wenum

COLUMBIA Funeral services for Zachary Watts Wenum, 23, will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday 29, 2015 at Shandon Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 - 2:30 pm prior to the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Zach went to be with the Lord Friday, April 24, 2015. He is the son of Franklin Casey and Shelley Watts Wenum and younger brother of Alex Casey Wenum. He was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. A graduate of Loyola College Prep in Shreveport, LA, Zach was a senior at the University of South Carolina where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Zach was very gregarious, passionate and loved many things, namely Gamecock sports (especially football), playing basketball, and spending time with his friends and family. Zach was especially close to his Granddaddy Buddy, beside whom he will be laid to rest to spend eternity in Heaven. Anyone who ever met Zach and got to know him quickly discovered how truly affable, selfless and loyal he was. His kind heart and fun loving nature were his trademarks. Zach, you were truly a force of nature. You were so unique - there will never, ever be another one like you. We will love and miss you forever.

In addition to his parents, Zach is survived by his brother, Alex Wenum of Charleston; maternal grandmother Sheila Watts of Columbia; aunts, uncles, cousins; and his girlfriend Madison Phillips. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Carl Jerry and Dottie Hope Wenum and maternal grandfather Edward C. "Buddy" Watts.
